Aluria Software, developer of anti-spyware
and performance optimization technology,
announced its newest version of
Aluria Spyware Elminator (ASE) 4.0
software features the most advanced
anti-spyware technology available,
including the ability to block malicious
spyware in real time - before it
is installed on a user’s computer.
While
current anti-spyware solutions merely
scan and remove spyware files once
they are installed on a user’s
computer, ASE 4.0 incorporates a
real-time monitoring component -
the Active Defense Shield (ADS)
- to detect spyware before it can
be installed by monitoring any changes
to the user’s file system.
Whenever the installation of a new
application or software is attempted,
ASE 4.0’s intelligent engine
compares the download with Aluria’s
extensive database of known spyware
files. Computer users then have
the option to block these suspicious
files before they can harm their
computer systems.

Available
in mid-January, ASE 4.0 also incorporates
several high-end features such as
a multi-threading next-generation
anti-spyware engine based on Aluria’s
SMART Scan technology that reduces
spyware scan times by 75%. ASE 4.0
also introduces a new simplified
user interface and advanced detection
processes that find the most insidious
forms of spyware. New detections
and removal routines have been included
to protect against the majority
of Coolweb variants - perhaps the
most malicious form of spyware infecting
today’s computers.
To
give consumers a better understanding
of the applications on their computers,
Aluria’s SMART Scan technology
includes a new category of application
known as "Consumerware"
- consumer-friendly ad-supported
software that adheres to Aluria’s
Spyware Safe Certification Criteria,
doesn’t pose the same risks
as spyware and can be easily removed
from a user’s computer. ASE
4.0 gives users the ability to detect
Consumerware files, receive information
about the applications and remove
them if desired.
